The holiday season is in full-force, and though Christmas is a short 2 days away, we still have New Year's just around the corner as well as gala season! I always love an occasion to wear a long dress, like this high low option by Hutch from ZIA Boutique.
It's always nice to have a formal black dress in your closet for that last minute formal invite or black tie optional wedding where you just "don't have anything to wear!"

The Christmas countdown is on! Still looking for some gift ideas? Check out some personal favorites of mine! These gifts are sure to delight the ladies in your life, whether it's for a mom, best friend, or you're sending hints to your significant other.
- Cozy Blanket - I can't get enough of comfy blankets - we keep them around our house and Soph enjoys them too. Splurging on a nice blanket is often a gift someone won't get for themselves!
- Comfy Robe - I have been using the same robe my grandmother gave me at least 8 years ago and it's still in perfect shape. While I have some other great options, an ultra-cozy one is great for right out of the shower! It's definitely the gift that keeps on giving!
- Silk Pillow Case - I wouldn't mind getting one of these in my stocking!
- Diamond Pendant - My parents gave me this gift a few years ago and it's something I never take off.
- Round Brush Hair Dryer - If you are looking for the perfect beauty gift, this is it!! I wasn't sure if I would really use my round brush dryer all that much, but I use it at least twice a week if not more.
- Travel Jewelry Case - How cute are these little monogrammed travel cases?! I gifted my shop girls these for Christmas and they all love them!
- Buxom Lip Gloss - Perfect stocking stuffer - guys, if you need ideas, this is it!!
- Makeup Towels - This could make for another cute little stocking stuffer. I love that these cloths are darker so no more ruined white wash cloths.
- Cute Gloves - While I don't own these, I sure do love them! So cute for chilly days.
- Gucci Card Case - I don't think any lady will say no to Gucci!
- Laptop Backpack - A friend recommended this backpack to me almost a year ago and it's a good one! Perfect for the gal on the go and great as a work bag.
What's on your wish list this year?

Happy Holiday Season! With Christmas just a few short days away, I've been making all of our lists and checking them twice - but the countdown is officially on! To get a few gifting ideas, I stopped by Perry's Emporium to check out one of their newest collections: LAGOS. It's safe to say that I'm in love with all of these beautiful pieces!
While the LAGOS line is comprehensive, some of my favorite options were the diamond stacking bracelets. While they are absolutely stunning on their own, they are designed to stack and wear together so you can mix and match your pieces to create the desired look. My mom and I both found pieces we loved - I tended to gravitate to the delicate bracelet options while my mom loved the look of a gorgeous necklace. We also find a ring that would look gorgeous on my little sister! There's a little something for everyone in this collection.
Another great thing this collection offers is a way to elevate your technology. There are several beautiful Apple watch band options - and coming from a girl who loves her watch but doesn't like the look of it, a beautiful watch band featuring diamonds seems like the way to go.
I also loved the gorgeous earrings featured below - while certainly a statement, they are light enough to wear no matter the occasion and would make the perfect gift for the lady in your life that loves a gorgeous pair of earrings!
This collection, new to Perry's Emporium here in Wilmington, is a must-see! Let the team know that you're there to see the LAGOS Caviar collection - I can promise you won't be disappointed!
It's that time of year where I love spending hours on Pinterest looking for holiday decor ideas! This year, I decided to create a Thanksgiving tablescape that would easily transcend into Christmas (especially considering our Christmas tree is already up!). Vietri kindly sent me a few pieces to compliment what I currently already have and I love the way everything turned out!
I've loved Vietri for years - I worked in a gift store in high school that sold the line and fell in love with it then. We received so many gorgeous pieces of Vietri for our wedding and I love mixing and matching to create different looks throughout the year!
For the center of the table, I used a faux eucalyptus garland I found last year and accented with these adorable pumpkins. Once Thanksgiving has passed, I'll store the pumpkins and add in a few mercury glass votives for a holiday look.
We already had the gorgeous ruffle chargers (and we also have this pattern for Christmas) but thanks to Vietri, we added this vase, these wine glasses, and these bud vases to our collection! I'm hosting a girls night ornament exchange in December and can't wait to put all of these pieces to good use!

When we have family gatherings during the holidays, my family pretty much always expects that I'll bring one of two things - brown rice (you can check out my Nonny's recipe here) or mashed potatoes. This year, I did add a breakfast casserole to my Thanksgiving repertoire, and I'll have to share that recipe that I got from a friend soon because that. thing. was. good.
I love mashed potatoes, so even though peeling potatoes is a bit time consuming, it's my go-to dish of choice. The peeling potatoes is honestly the worst part of this entire recipe because the rest you just throw in the mixer and blend. Voile - you have a delicious side dish that even your great- aunts will be asking for (this happened at Thanksgiving and made my day...)
Start to Finish Time: About 40 minutes
Ingredients:
5 pound bag of gold potatoes
6 oz sour cream
3/4 can of evaporated milk
4 oz cream cheese
1 stick of butter
Salt to taste
*Note: I didn't say this recipe was healthy...
Instructions:
- Peel potatoes and cut into smaller pieces (they will cook faster this way)
- Boil until soft (about 15 minutes)
- Add other ingredients and mix until smooth
We received a KitchenAid mixer from my grandparents as a wedding gift and I love this thing for mashed potatoes. I dump all of the ingredients into the mixing bowl, turn it on low and gently raise the speed until the potatoes are nice and creamy. It makes it so easy! Though a hand mixer works just as well, too.
You can also top your potatoes with garnishing of your choice! I opted for chives here but will sometimes add cheese or bacon and then pop in the oven until melted. If you are taking your dish to someone else's home, just warm in the oven if they need a little heating.

*Another Note: The ingredients listed above are give and take. That's what I base my recipe off of but I'll add the evaporated milk slowly to see how creamy I want them to be. If my brother is around, he'll tell me add the rest of the cream cheese and probably the sour cream, too.
In this mashed potatoes photo shoot, I thought I would also share a few of my fun little tablescape items! I snagged these reindeer from Pottery Barn a few weeks ago and I've just been moving them around my house because I like them so much. Although, this little trio may have found their home for this Christmas season on our dining room table.
Our Vietri Old St. Nick plates are also one of my Christmastime favorites. We opted for dessert plates vs. an entire set of Christmas china and we mix and match with our other pieces, like these gold ruffle chargers that I always receive the most compliments on.

What's your go-to side dish for the holiday season? I always love hearing about a few favorites!

top: Sugar Love Boutique c/o, skirt: Express (love this houndstooth), shoes: Steve Madden, clutch: Francesca's (old)
With the holidays right around the corner, I've been piecing together outfits for a fun holiday look. I'm in love with this top from Sugar Love Boutique. The double layers, the back detail, the bell sleeves, and the color make it a perfect and versatile top for the season. I paired it with a houndstooth mini I've had for years for a more dressy look -- I love when you come across something that's been hidden in your closet for forever. Hope you had a great weekend!
