Happy Friday! It has absolutely been the craziest week - but it has been so worth it! We have had some changes at work that have resulted in a changing workload, but it's been exciting as well and I'm loving learning new things. And my mom and I spent Wednesday and Thursday nights at the Miss North Carolina preliminary competition. I had the opportunity to compete twice for the title of Miss North Carolina, and it's always so nice to be back in Raleigh, seeing an incredible class of girls compete and catching up with great friends.
I came across this romper at Loft and as soon as I put it on, I knew I had to have it. On Wednesday night, I wore this top and skirt, but for Thursday, I kept things a little more casual and opted for a comfy romper and my go-to ankle strap heels. P.S. This romper is on major sale! It's perfect for so many occasions - we are going on a vacation in a few weeks and it will most definitely be in my suitcase.
How gorgeous is my mama?! She has always been one of my biggest fans, and she was with me for every decision when I was preparing for Miss North Carolina. This is always a fun week for us - we've been doing it for years, even before I started competing, and it's a tradition I wouldn't trade for the world. Fun fact - she also competed for Miss North Carolina. Check out a fun throwback picture here.

It's always a good time catching up with this gal. In 2011, Hailey Best and I were in the same competition group and ended up hitting it off. A week later, she and I were the last two standing, and I was awarded first-runner up as she won Miss North Carolina 2011. It was such an honor to be holding the hands of a friend and I was beyond proud of her as Miss NC. She represented our state beautifully, and I'm definitely thankful for our friendship. Each year, we try to have dinner and drinks at least one night before prelims with our mamas.
Happy Miss North Carolina week - and good luck to the beautiful women who are vying for the title! Have a great weekend!
