I never knew how much I could love a puffer jacket until I ended up with two winners! I have two options for black puffy coats depending on the weather. When I'm here in Wilmington, I often wear this one as it's perfect for our more mild temperatures. It's lightweight but also keeps me warm when the temperatures drop.
When I travel to cooler locations or when it's freezing here at home, I opt for this one! This comfy jacket is what I packed for our recent trip Breckenridge, and while I packed another cute coat option, I ended up just wearing this one and my ski coat! This option is often under $100 from J.Crew factory and was warm enough for me to wear in Colorado when the temperatures were around - 2 degrees with wind chills around - 20!
Both of these jackets pack well - the Michael Kors option is so lightweight that it folds up nicely. While the J.Crew option is certainly thicker, I was able to easily store it in my carry on for our travel to Colorado.

Happy Monday, sweet friends! I don't know about you, but my Christmas spirit is in full swing! I've had Christmas music playing for at least three weeks at this point, but now I feel like it's socially acceptable. It was another busy weekend but I was able to catch up with friends for a gal's holiday shower we hosted for her over the weekend. And Stephen and I spent a fun day together with brunch, Christmas shopping, wrapping gifts, and addressing 3987392 save the dates (that may be an exaggeration, but seriously - the addressing feels like it will never end!)
Today, I'm sharing my last look from our Sugar Mountain trip. I absolutely love the snow and have consistently checked the weather in Wilmington with hopes that we would see a snowfall (snow at the beach is gorgeous), but now that I've had my snow-fix, I'd be perfectly fine if spring made its way to stay. Can I also add that it's quite difficult to take pictures in blowing snow when the high is 10 degrees? Hence the reason my face looks questionable in these photos.

Happy Monday! I hope everyone stayed safe through Winter Storm Jonas. Parts of NC definitely had winter weather, but Wilmington was not once of those places. It sleeted briefly on Wednesday night which made me think we may actually get a little bit of the snow over the weekend, and while we saw a couple of the tiniest snowflakes on Saturday, it was mostly just very cold with torrential rain. I have enjoyed keeping up with everyone's adventures via Insta and Snapchat, and I'm still holding on to the a little Coastal NC snow before the winter season is over.

Happy Monday! How is a new week already here? It was a busy but productive week on this end -- I had to go into work for a couple of hours Saturday morning, and then I helped Stephen move the rest of the day! If you follow along on Instagram, you may have seen that he and I now live in the same zipcode for the first time since college -- it takes less than 10 minutes for me to get to his apartment, and I am so thankful that we now reside in the same town. Sunday was spent doing a much needed closet cleanup (check out a few new things on Poshmark) with the Panthers/Seahawks game in the background.

Happy Wednesday, friends! We're halfway through the week. I've been feeling a little under the weather, but I've also been busy at work so these first couple of days have flown by. Happy New Year everyone! I'm sad to see the holiday season come to a close but I'm excited to see what 2016 will bring! My work + personal + social calendar is quickly filling up, so if this year is anything like the last one, 2016 is going to fly by!

Aren't sleepovers with girlfriends the best?! Combine that with cozy holiday pjs + delicious mimosas + yummy hot chocolate and it's the perfect weekend. I absolutely love getting Christmas pajamas each year, and it was fun to lounge around and have girl time with these sweet blog gals. When I question whether or not I should continue blogging, it's these girls who remind me that I'm thankful for this hobby of mine. I'm blessed to have formed great friendships all because I sat down in front of a computer and pressed publish one day.
Though there are certainly pieces I am willing to splurge on - think long term, less trendy - I often try to find a more budget-friendly alternative, especially if it is something I'm not going to use very often. My LV handbag was most certainly a splurge, but I've used it every single day since I made the purchase and see it lasting a very long time. A pair of Rockstuds, however, I don't think I could splurge on. Their absolutely beautiful but also ultra-trendy, so if I were going to spend the extra money, it would probably be for a more classic pair of heels. Want the look but not the price? That's where these look-alikes come in and for less than $100. Another great piece for less? Though I love this J.Crew cable knit hat, there's another version I like as much if not more - and for significantly less!
