As much as I love shopping for myself, I have always loved shopping for other people. There's just something about seeing someone unwrap a gift that you spent time picking out just for them. And with the wonderful parties and showers that have been thrown for us in this engagement season, I've been trying to keep up with ideas for hostess gifts as a thank you to the host and or hostess.
I myself have also received a few hostess gifts that I still use or love. When I hosted a bridal shower for my Matron of Honor 4 years ago, she gave me a Scout lunchbox that I still use today. And just the other day, my other Matron of Honor gifted my mom and I each a beautiful orchid that I just love as a thank you for the shower. Whether it's simply a handwritten note or a purchased gift, a small token of thanks certainly goes a long way.
We also have a few friends who are purchasing their first homes, and I always love taking over a little something as a housewarming gift. When I moved back to Wilmington, one of my best friends brought over a gift basket full of goodies - note cards, a candle, a trinket dish - all things perfect for setting up things in my home.
