Coffee Date: Volume 8

How in the world is it already October? It's still in the upper 70s and 80s here in North Carolina, which is quite the contrast with what it was like a year ago. This time last year, it was chilly and raining - it is hurricane season after all, but we saw close to 10 days with major rainfall.

A year ago, I had also just started my job at River Landing. It's so crazy that I've been working here for a year, and in those 12 months, so much has changed within my job. Most of the changes have certainly been for the better, and I'm now the marketing director for the River Landing companies, which I absolutely love.

A few recent questions:
How is Sophie doing?
Thankfully, she's okay so far! We've done a strict diet change and though she's lost some weight, most of it is excess fluid loss which is good! So now we just have to fatten her up a bit.

What is your go-to nail color for fall?
That's a tough one - it depends on my mood! I love You Don't Know Jaques for more of a neutral and Malaga Wine for a berry (both OPI). I also really want to give the Washington, DC OPI collection a try (Kerry Washington's collab with OPI). We the Female is my top pick for that!

What is your favorite workout legging?
I absolutely love Beyond Yoga leggings but a friend at Pure Barre recommended the Lululemon High Times legging during a pop-up shop we had at the studio a couple of weeks ago and I love those too!

Fall Shopping Favorites:

It's also been awhile since I shared an update on my 101 in 1,001 list (April - wow!). You can view the original post here, but below are some things I've recently crossed off the list. If you haven't done a 101 in 1,001, I would definitely recommend it! It's fun to look back at goals, and I'm such a checklist person that I love being able to cross things off as they are accomplished.

Some recent updates:
4. Send 25 handwritten notes (completed May 2016)
19. Get engaged (this was a big one! August 2016)
22. Give my mom flowers (August 2016)
31. Take a PB platform class. (May 2016 - read my thoughts here)
41. Create a new series (I crossed this one off awhile back but have also started Wedding Wednesday!)
          - Coffee Date - see the first volume here
          - Fine Print
          - Wedding Wednesday
44. Publish a new "what's in my bag" post (See post here - April 2016)
62. Update LinkedIn profile (July 2016)
97. Have a picnic (Stephen and I had a picnic the day we got engaged!)
100. Buy a pair of true designer heels (purchased in New York in September 2016 - Loubuotins for wedding!)

Questions, thoughts? Would love to here from you! asouthernstyleblog@gmail.com

  3. So glad Sophie is improving! I love Fall nails - Chinchilly is my favorite. I've never tried Beyond Yoga leggings but I recently won a Fabletics gift card and picked up a few pairs of leggings there and am really loving them. A little less expensive than Lulu but great quality.
