What a weekend! Another one in the books that I'm sad to see go. We had the most gorgeous weather this weekend, so I took full advantage on Saturday and sat by the pool from 9:30 to almost 2. It was so perfect out - I was caught up in reading a book, talking with my mom, and watching Soph play in the pool (check out Snapchat for a funny video: zellebrown), that I didn't realize I was getting sunburned. I rarely burn except for in the beginning of the sunny season, but I missed a few spots along my back and neck and yikes - doesn't look terrible but it's certainly a little painful.
I also had the opportunity to play hair and makeup artist to a girl I've had the pleasure of getting to know over the past few months as she prepared for the Azalea Festival Princess Pageant. She did not take home the crown, but we have had a blast, and her confidence has blossomed so much over the course of our time together, and I am beyond proud of her accomplishments! I did get to see a little girl I've known since she was born (one of my mom's closest friend's daughter) be awarded 1st runner up - and we have a picture of us together when I had the privilege of winning my senior year of high school 7 years ago. Now she's all grown up!
March is definitely in full swing -- I can't believe it -- and now we're already half-way through it! I have a two-day work event on Thursday and Friday, and this is the first one I have organized with this company so it'll be an exciting and busy week! Thursday also happens to be St. Patrick's Day. Though emerald is my birthstone, I don't own a lot of green - aside from olive. So for this St. Patrick's Day, you'll probably find me in a shade similar to these pants so I can avoid getting pinched! P.S. this striped top? Less than $10! I know I'll be wearing it so much this summer!
