I'm excited to kick off my gift guide with the one that will probably be my favorite - a guide complete with some of my favorite local businesses! While I've already done a little bit of shopping online here and there for the Christmas season, one of my priorities is to really dive in to some of my local favorites for gifting!
There's no shame in admitting that a lot of my gifts come from my own small business, but I've got a few favorites around town (that also have great websites as well!). You may notice in the list below that I have included quite a few art gifts - but as I've gotten older, I've found that beautiful artwork makes for a great and personal gift! I work closely with Alley Hunt Art on projects for the shop and I've used Southern Bee Designs for several amazing wedding gifts. Here's a peek at a few of my local favorites:
- Artwork from Printed Hues via Airlie Moon
- Earrings from Melissa Tyson Designs
- Cuff from High Strung Shop
- Bookends from Nest
- Calendar from Cleerely Stated
- Diamond band from Perry's Emporium
- Blowout gift card from Set Blowout Bar
- Beach themed art from Brooke Eagle Art
- Customized art (and pet portraits!) from Alley Hunt Art
- Earrings from ZIA Boutique
- Gift Card to Drift Coffee & Kitchen
- Vietri dish from Fisherman's Wife
- Hair care from MISSIO
- Succulent from Coastal Succulent
While Starbucks and Dunkin' are always some of my favorites, consider visiting your local coffee shop for a gift card this holiday season! If you're local to Wilmington, Drift is one of my favorite local spots. Another favorite of mine to pop in for gifts is Gathered - not only are the designers incredibly talented, but they have the cutest little storefront - follow them on Instagram for all of your design favorites!
As you head out to shop this season, check out your local favorites or support your favorite Instagram shop by sending them a direct message! I'm 100% confident they'd love to help!
Mother's Day is right around the corner, which is so hard to believe! I feel like it was just yesterday that we were spending time with my sweet mom on a day that is dedicated to her. I've snagged my mom's Mother's Day gift - which I'll share next week - but I've compiled a few fun items that your mom - or any gal really - is sure to love.

Looking for the perfect gift for the gal(s) in your life this Valentine's Day? Whether you send this to your guy for a wish list idea or snag a gift for a friend or your mom, here are some of my favorite "Galentine's Day" gifts. All most all of these ideas are under $50, so you can give a sweet gift without breaking the bank. I adore candles, so those are always winners in my book!

Is it just me, or are the guys in our lives incredibly difficult to buy for? My reasoning is that it's so easy for me to buy clothes for Stephen, my brother, or my dad, but I feel like that's all I ever do because I see so many clothes for guys that I like, but to that same point, I want to come up with gifts that are exciting and creative. It's also difficult when they give you no feedback - so here's a gift guide that I'm hoping Stephen will take a peek at. Maybe he'll like one or two of these things?
April is definitely flying by! We only have one weekend left in April and two full weekends between now and Mother's Day. I've always loved Mother's Day -- my mom is one of my best friends, so I love celebrating her. I've put together some of my picks to gift to mom. Whether it's a new pair of shoes for the shoe-lover, a piece of jewelry, a bath scrub or new beauty item to pamper her, or even a card, our moms, grandmothers, or special ladies in our lives will be sure to love it. What's your pick for mom?
