Red Carpet

Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I spent the majority of mine in Wilmington, and Sunday, we were able to celebrate my sweet grandmother's birthday. Sunday night ended perfectly cuddled up watching the 87th Academy Awards. The Oscars is definitely my favorite awards-show of the year, and I would be lying if I didn't say a large part of it is the gowns.

This year, neutrals were obviously my top choices for best dressed. Reese Witherspoon, in Tom Ford, won it for me with her classic, Old-Hollywood vibe. The cut, the colors, the hair and makeup -- everything about her Oscar look was perfection. Jenna Dewan-Tatum also looked like the picture of elegance; the cut of her dress was absolutely flawless. She always shows up to the red-carpet stunning yet effortless. Kate Blanchett wore a simple Maison Margiela Couture gown, but how perfect is it? Her look was so chic and captivating, with the turquoise statement necklace pulling everything together. Lupita Nyong'o has dressed too impress from her first red carpet, so it's no surprise that she was flawless in Calvin Klein Collection. I didn't realize how much I loved this dress until she was onstage; the detailing of the top is phenomenal. Jennifer Aniston killed it as well. This dress looks as though it was made for her body, and I love the simple hair and makeup and minimal jewelry.

Neil Patrick Harris is always an incredible entertainer, so I was not surprised that he did a great job hosting. One thing I loved was how much he was cracking himself up: such an endearing quality. And when Anna Kendrick walked out singing, I was star-struck. We knew she could sing from Pitch Perfect, but she is incredibly talented.

What were your favorite red carpet looks? What was the best moment of the night? Cheers to a new week!
