How in the world is it the last day of summer? This summer has been an incredible one and I'm not quite ready to say goodbye to it. I feel like I was just gearing up for warm weather - though I don't think our warm weather is leaving us anytime soon - and now tomorrow is the first day of fall. Last fall was full of change for me: I moved back to Wilmington and started a new job, among other things, so I'm excited to see what this new season has in store.
This summer has had it's fair share of highlights:
- This amazing trip to the Exumas
- I transitioned into the marketing director position at work.
- the Southern Style Insta reached 15k followers! Thank you to those who follow along!
- We celebrated our wonderful friends' weddings and engagements.
- We got engaged and started planning our wedding! I am so excited to celebrate over the course of this next year.
There were so many special moments in the days of summer that it's hard to share them all, but I'm thankful for a wonderful season in my life. And as we transition to fall, it's time to transition the wardrobe too, but as I've mentioned time and time again, it's still in the 80s in coastal North Carolina, which means that the blanket scarves and OTK boots have to stay put for everyday where for now.
I ordered these shorts for an NC State game this past weekend but we ended up not taking the trip to Raleigh. On Saturday night, however, Stephen and I had dinner with our parents and I realized how great they paired with this top. I chose to tuck the spaghetti straps in and where it as a complete off-shoulder top, and how fun are these booties with this look? Y'all are going to be tired of seeing these booties before fall even officially gets here but I seriously can't get enough. Cheers to this last day of summer and to a fab season!
