Well-Traveled
This time next week, I will {fingers crossed} be headed to New York City. I love the city, and the past few years, we've gone in the winter, so it'll be refreshing to see NYC in the summertime. I am catching a flight to meet my family right after work, so I won't have time to change. Even when I travel, I still want to look put-together yet comfortable, so I'll be picking pieces that travel well, that are comfortable, and that are versatile between work and flight.
Structured cotton dresses are one of my go-tos, and I have a few favorites from Old Navy and H&M. They don't wrinkle easily, they are comfortable, and will easily transition from my desk to the airport. I also will be choosing shoes that are easy to walk in. I love a pair that I found at Belk (that are unfortunately sold out). They have a tiny wedge with an ankle strap, but the best feature for travel is that they have a zippered back. Taking off shoes to go through security means you don't need something with lots of buckles, etc., but something instead that slips on and off. A sandal like the one above gives you a polished look but is easy when doing the necessary requirements for flying.
Because the flight is a quick one, I don't need a lot of things in my carry-on. In my tote (loving that Kate Spade!), I'll toss in a magazine, bottle of water (post-security of course), some gum, and a pashmina and/or sweater. Even in the heat of summer, those airports and planes are freezing, so they always come in handy.
For some reason, I love flying, and I'm excited for a little weekend getaway to the Big Apple. One week away! Any recommendations?!
