What I'm Packing in Our Hospital Bags

It's hard to believe that the countdown to Baby W is winding down! We're just a little more than a month out from her due date and I've been trying my hardest to get my to-do list checked off, and at the top of it is packing our hospital bags! I'm very thankful for all of my mama friends who have sent over their lists and must-haves so I combined them, consolidated, and figured out what we think will work best for us. Of course, this is our first baby so there's a chance we won't have something we wish we did or that we'll have way more than we actually need, but I'm also an over-packer so I've just come to terms with the fact that I'll probably have too much!

I ordered this set of packing cubes and they've come in handy for both mine and baby's things. I only used one cube for pretty much all of her stuff and then sorted mine based on item so that if we need to grab something quickly, it will be readily available.

Baby's Bag

I ordered our little girl this Barrington tote once we decided on her name. I have a few of them and loved this cute pattern. It'll be perfect for when we pack her things to stay at the beach house and I knew it would be great for the hospital as well.
  • Mittens
  • Socks
  • Hat/Bow
  • 2 or 3 blankets/swaddles
  • Outfit and items for her announcement photo
  • Several outfits (in both newborn and 0-3 month - I opted for a couple of gowns and a footed option)
    • A friend recommended these Paty gowns so I am having one monogramed to take as well
  • Burp cloth
  • Boppy
  • Sound machine
  • Car Seat

In Our Bag

While baby's bag is all set, ours is still in the works but I have the big things all packed. I decided to pack just one large roller suitcase to hold both mine and Stephen's things in hopes that we'll have less bags to carry.

For Both of Us:
  • Towels
  • Blanket
  • Pillow
  • Phone Charger with long cord
  • Snacks / protein bars
  • Bottled Water
  • Small night light
For Mom:
  • Pajamas (I have this nightgown and this set)
  • Nursing bra
  • Comfy robe
  • Toiletry Bag - some specifics other than the usual are hair ties, Chapstick, etc.
  • Bedroom slippers
  • Sticky Socks
  • Shower flip flops
  • Outfit for going home (I have two dresses packed)
  • Depends (these came highly recommended!)
  • Nursing tank and nipple cream
  • Camera
  • Portable mini fan
For Dad:
  • Workout/Comfy clothes
  • Change of clothes / outfit for going home
  • Toiletries

Who knows what out of these things we will use! We are trying to be prepared as possible due to Covid-restrictions but I'm share what worked best for us once she's here!
