Happy Memorial Day weekend! First things first, thank you for all of the sweet messages I received for my birthday. I think I'm getting more emotional in my old age, and I teared up multiple times throughout the day overwhelmed by the love I received. I was spoiled by Stephen and my parents for sure, and I received sweet surprises from my coworkers plus handmade notes from a sweet friend and her class. I can't wait to continue celebrating this weekend with my friends!

TGIF! This has been quite the week - today is the final day of a work event I've been planning for awhile so wish me luck! I'm excited to see it finally come to fruition, but hoping that everything will go well! Happy Friday! I'm excited to be headed back to the coast for the weekend. Lots of fun in the sun and time with family and friends is on the schedule, and I can't wait. It's been an incredibly long week but it's flown by at the same time, if that makes any sense at all. I'm looking forward to a couple of days in the sun.

Many of you know that my grandmother's battle with ALS has significantly worsened in the last weeks. We had hit what seemed like a plateau when suddenly things really turned, and she has been bedridden for the last two weeks. She really is one of my best friends, so this has been incredibly hard for me, especially since I work a little over an hour from where she lives. I've had a very hard time with this, but woke up on Wednesday with a positive attitude, a new dress, and some pink lipstick to make for a better day. On the way to work, I realized I was in the wrong lane and sped up to get into the correct one, and immediately got pulled over -- and received a speeding ticket. In a time when I needed a pick-me-up, I was knocked right back down, and it hurt. It really hurt. But I have great family and friends who lifted me back up, and I really needed this reminder that God is faithful.

This weekend, I'm going to our friends' wedding, seeing my sister in the musical Cats, and spending time with my sweet grandmother. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Cheers!

Happy Friday! It has been quite the week. I've had an incredibly busy week work-wise, and we are also adjusting to a new normal with my sweet grandmother, and I can't thank you enough for all the sweet messages and comments I have received! They mean so much!

This time last year, I shared this post using my new camera for the first time. I felt so impressed my what it could do and felt like a "real" blogger. It's funny how much I've changed as a blogger, in my professional career, and as a whole in this year. I love how far this blog has come (and I still love that silk top I shared!).

Happy Friday! It has been a pretty long week -- last week's long weekend certainly didn't help, but I've loved having warm weather and afternoons spent outside. This weekend, we're celebrating friends at their engagement party, and Stephen and I are going to go stay with my sweet grandmother, so I'm looking forward to that!

Happy Weekend! The past few weeks have been crazy here in NC. We've had more winter weather so close together than I ever remember having, so it's definitely made for some interesting work weeks! I also want to say a quick thanks to everyone who took the survey -- I love getting feedback on Southern Style!

I am definitely in a snowdaze after the past few weeks' weather! I had a snow day and worked from home yesterday due to the second winter storm of the week rolling through North Carolina -- but both were filled with snow instead of last week's ice, so that's a definite win! Soph hasn't been sure what to think of all the snow, but I've loved getting some adorable snaps of her.

If you've seen my past few Wanted Lists, you may have seen a Target tote that I'm in love with, that in my opinion, looks much more expensive than it is. Glitter Guide has an awesome list of Target pieces that give you a luxurious look for less.
