It's a blogiversary! Today marks two years of Southern Style, which is absolutely crazy to believe. I randomly started this blog over Christmas break in 2012, and I had no clue what I was doing. I started with sharing clothes and jewelry that I loved, and I posted maybe once a week or maybe once a month. Flash forward to August of 2013, and I was moving to the Charlotte-area. I decided that I wanted to explore this creative outlet a little bit more, and I began posting on a more regular basis and eventually branched out into style posts. Once I began posting more, I also began reading more of others' blogs, and I have found quite the few friends in blogland.
I am beyond thankful for those of you who continuously visit Southern Style, and I hope you continue to do so! I am also so happy that I have a wonderful boyfriend, family, and friends who are always willing to help me with the odds and ends that go into creating a post. Those of you who blog know how hard it can be sometimes, but I really do love Southern Style more than I ever thought I could and I hope you do too! Cheers to what the next years bring!

Though it's since warmed back up, we've had what felt like a real fall day: cool and crisp and perfectly sunny. These days aren't so good for my wanted list though -- I instantly decide I need new sweaters, boots, and bags. I've refrained decently well so far, but I would love this entire look in my closet: a pair of jacquard skinnies paired with tall riding boots and the perfect wine lip sounds like something necessary to my fall wardrobe, don't you think?
I'm still enjoying the heart of summer and in now way am I ready for it to be over, but Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale definitely has me ready to gear up my wardrobe for fall! I have found so many amazing things to add to my wish list that will change up my looks this fall -- and I may or may not be purchasing a few of them!
I've found a great selection of tops, bottoms, jackets, shoes, bags, and makeup that would be perfect for my wardrobe. If only I could have them all! Happy Halloween! This day has certainly crept up on me. I love Halloween, because for me, it signals the start of holiday festivities! My plans this year are certainly different than the past four, but I'm still looking forward to a fun Halloween night with my guy and my pup.

Winter, spring, summer, fall -- no matter the season, I love stripes. I was perusing pinterest as usual (not sure why Google thinks pinterest isn't a word, because it most certainly is in my everyday vocabulary) and came across this striped sweater that I've seen over and over this past year. Each time I see it, I love it a little bit more (you can see it here). Though I've yet to find said sweater for sale, I did find some striped looks I'm loving for fall. Stripes often have a nautical feel, but don't stray from them for fall -- check out these looks or find some of your own. I might just have to break out the stripes tomorrow.

Though I'm still basking in the warm weather, I definitely have fall on the brain. I don't think I could ever find too many shoes, and this fall, there are some great pairs out there! Sometimes I feel like I live in boots (like the Fryes above!), but those are my favorite to wear once the weather gets chilly. This season, I want to spice up my fall shoe collection, and here are a few of my favorites!
I already have the Frye, but I highly recommend it to anyone. I also don't have a pair of black boots -- so why not choose a pair of Tory Burch? I'm also loving the booties, both the closed-toe wedge as well as the opened-toe heel. Plus, every girl needs a pair of go-to flats in her closet, and once again, Tory Burch takes the cake (can you tell I'm a fan?!). For rainy or snowy days, Hunter never lets you down. The boots come in all colors and you can also add a boot liner to keep your feet toasty. Finally, don't forget a great "wear to work" heels or wedges, like this pair from STEVE by Steve Madden.
