top: Forever 21, pants: Michael Kors (TJ Maxx) shoes: Steve Madden (similar), bag: Vince Camuto (loving this one)
Like so many of my favorite fall pieces, I picked up this sweater while in Forever 21 back in early September. It was one of those things I wasn't look for, but I knew that if I didn't get it, I would regret it. It had such a luxe feel, especially considering that it was a steal. I also am in love with this VC bag that I bought a few years ago. It was a summer purchase, but I'm actually loving it for fall. Fall white, anyone?

kimono: Nordstrom (similar here or here) // jeans: forever 21 // boots: Frye // bracelet: J. Crew //
So, I'm trying out the kimono this fall, and I have to say, I love it! It is perfect paired with jeans and boots for those fall days that don't quite need a sweater or jacket. I love the print on this one as well (a gift from a friend). They are chic and cozy, all in one -- definitely thinking I'll need more in my closet.

I'm loving this dress! A Kate Spade vibe, yes? Southern fall temperatures make pairing boots and a dress the perfect combination!
Winter, spring, summer, fall -- no matter the season, I love stripes. I was perusing pinterest as usual (not sure why Google thinks pinterest isn't a word, because it most certainly is in my everyday vocabulary) and came across this striped sweater that I've seen over and over this past year. Each time I see it, I love it a little bit more (you can see it here). Though I've yet to find said sweater for sale, I did find some striped looks I'm loving for fall. Stripes often have a nautical feel, but don't stray from them for fall -- check out these looks or find some of your own. I might just have to break out the stripes tomorrow.

The blazer, though often viewed as a business suit piece, is now a trend seen with almost anything. Whether for work or play, a blazer is a great piece to add to any look. Though the temperatures are still warm, the blazer is the perfect transition piece from summer to fall. Pair it with shorts while the weather is still nice -- once the temperature cools, a pair of jeans or cropped pants are perfect with it. It is definitely a piece every girl should have in your closet.

I am in love with summer. I crave the sunshine, relaxing on the beach, and the endless warm weather. This summer has been accented with lots of nighttime summer storms, but that can sometimes be a relaxing way to end the day.
This summer, I've found a few go-tos that are staples in my closet. I've been spending a lot of time by the pool and at the beach, with friends and family, and traveling around NC. For hot Carolina days, I tend to go towards lightweight pieces that are both cute and comfortable -- especially for those days you want to run errands.

1. I have the Roxy Pleated Dress in two different colors. I'm not normally a huge Roxy fan, but I tried this dress on and it is a perfect lightweight for summer!
2. I have on a fedora or hat of some kind almost everytime I know I am going to be sitting outside for an extended period of time. It is so important to take care of your skin!
3. I LOVE this Mara Hoffman swimsuit. So cute.
4. Ray-Bans are a perfect summer accessory. My pair is my favorite.
5. You can't go wrong with this Tory Burch bag. Small crossbody bags like this one are perfect for running errands. I have a similar one and use it all of the time!
6. This abstract romper is a lucky find from Forever 21! I came across it last week and I am so glad it is in my closet! Be casual with a pair of cute sandals or dress it up with some great wedges!
7. These DV-Dolce Vita wedges are great. I tried them on back in the spring and regret that I chose another pair over these.
8. I love how versatile a Longchamp bag can be! I have used mine as a carry-all purse, a carry-on bag for traveling, and as a beach bag.
9. I wear my Tory Burch sandals almost every day. They are so comfortable, match almost everything, and are perfect for the summer!

What are your favorite summer pieces?

Hope everyone enjoyed celebrating a new year! I celebrated mine with SW and great friends, then spent time with family today, eating black-eyed peas and collard greens -- hopefully good luck for the year!
In starting off the year, I've decided to pick one word to define my year, a word to keep me focused and driven mentally, physically, and spiritually. My word for the year is going to be moment -- I am going to work on living in the moment, not worrying about past and future things. I am an avid planner, and with change looming in the future, I can't help but worry about what is to come. But this year, I am going to live in the moment.
So, what did I wear last night? Though I drew inspiration from my NYE design, I chose something a little more casual than a fully shimmering dress for my night out with friends. What's even better is that I found both my top and bottom from Forever 21 -- I got lucky!
I fell in love with the skirt when I saw it. Though I had purchased some sequined pieces to potentially wear, I couldn't turn this skirt down. It had just enough metallic and shimmer to wear for NYE, but it is definitely something I can incorporate into outfits in the future (I'll be wearing those sequined numbers too!).
I hope everyone has had a great start to a fresh new year!
P.S. What is your one word?
xoxo.
