Coffee Date - Volume 10

What a busy January it has been thus far! I thought we were going to get a great snowstorm this weekend, but it was a steady 33 degrees and raining aside from a few snow flurries on Saturday afternoon. I'm still holding out on there being another snowstorm between now and spring, but I am headed to the mountains in a couple of weekends to go skiing with some friends, which I'm excited for!

Loving Lately:
Perfect jeans - I was looking for a great pair of black jeans that I could wear to work but would be great for weekends too, and I am in love with these by DL1961. So comfortable but polished, too. I've been pairing them with these booties!

Cozy boots - Talking about comfortable...these are amazing! I purchased these slippers for my mom and was torn as to whether I wanted a pair for myself, but I opted for more of a boot version instead of the slipper. I want to wear them all day every day.

Straight Up  - When I'm doing design work, it's nice to tune into something else at work other than music or office chatter. I've been cracking up over the "Straight Up with Stassi" podcast, which was recommended from a couple of my Pure Barre gals. If you love Vanderpump Rules,  you should check it out!

Life Lately:
We have a lot going on in the coming months! One look at my calendar and it's clear I'm living for the weekends with the amount of events we have coming up.
  • Engagement party - My parents are throwing us an engagement party in a couple of weeks! I've ordered a bazillion things and nothing is working (white in January is tough!) but I have a few things coming in today and I'm hoping something will work!
  • Ski trip - I went skiing last year for the first time (check out my recap here and tips for beginners here), but I'm going to Sugar for a quick ski weekend with a group of friends the last weekend in January. I'll admit I'm a little nervous because most of them are pretty good skiers, but...life's an adventure, yes?
  • Weddings & more - I've mentioned before that I'm in three of my closet friends' weddings this summer (plus ours!), so between me and Stephen and our other friends, each weekend is filled with a party, shower or wedding. Such a fun year. I'm also headed to Charleston in June for Shelby's wedding and can't wait!

Questions Lately:
What size do you wear in the Topshop ripped denim? I always size up with anything Topshop and I'm generally a 26/27 in jeans, and the 28 fits perfectly.

Where do you shop most? In Wilmington, I mostly shop at Bevello, but online, I shop at Revolve and Nordstrom the most because of the diversity of what they carry.

I'm going to a wedding in a couple of weeks - any thoughts on what I should wear for a winter wedding? Ah, so many great options! Form something with sleeves, I love this open-back number or this wrap-dress. For a sleeveless option, I love this Shona Joy dress or this lace number (and both would look great with a fur wrap or coat.

Reading Lately:
Jumpstart January - I love this challenge on LaurenConrad.com. I actually did week one already by accident (can I just say that going from Pure Barre maybe once or twice a week to 5 times a week is killer!), but want to continue with the others!

Designer Home on a Budget - I have been redoing my living room slowly ever since I moved back in after our forced-reno from the leak. Stephen will be moving in after our wedding so there are some things I'm waiting on him to do, as I want it to be less girly and more couple-esque. I've found a thousand and one things I want to do but each of those come with a price tag, so I'm loving this article from the Glitter Guide (although Stephen may not want quite as many pink hues...).

Golden Globes - Check out all the looks from the Red Carpet. Mandy Moore was a winner for me in her cape dress, though I always feel like Blake Lively can do no wrong. Ever. Especially when it comes to Ryan Reynolds...that's all.

P.S. Did anyone else watch the Golden Globes? Who were your style favorites - or just celeb faves?
