Engagement Photos: Part 2

I'm excited to share some favorites from our second location of our engagement photos! The beach house is a very special place to me for several reasons. It was my grandmother's beach home and I spent so much time there with her before she passed away. Anytime I'm there, it takes me back to sitting on the dock chatting, playing cards on the porch, or her insisting that I eat a pimiento cheese sandwich and a piece of lemon pie. Needless to say, I wish I could have these moments back every single day, but I'm thankful for those memories.

Because Stephen knew how special that house is to me, he decided to propose on the dock there after we ate dinner one Sunday night! Though I would've loved to share that moment with her, I felt like she was right there with us after she said yes. Having that dock as our proposal spot will always be so special to me, so it was the perfect spot for us to take photos!

I chose a fun, shorter dress for our downtown photos (you can check those out here), so for the beach, I wanted something soft with a little bit of flow. I was having a hard time finding what I wanted, but when I came across this dress on Revolve, I decided to order it and give it a shot! Sure enough, I loved it when it came in and I love how it photographed as well.

We started our session on the back porch which I adore before heading down into the back yard and on the dock. Last minute, Kate suggested we walk across the street to the beach for a couple of quick photos and it was absolutely stunning. Our session was only a couple of days after Hurricane Matthew, and despite the storm, there was since of calm all across the beach with the most gorgeous sunset! I had a blast with Stephen in these photos and I loved going back to one of our favorite places once again.

Kate gave us so many photos it was hard to choose, but here are a few favorites. Oh, and P.S. Kate just updated her website and it is seriously gorgeous! Be sure to check it out and you may see a couple of familiar faces in this post!
