Coffee Date: Volume 6

What a month it has been! July ended with a big work event and vacation to the Bahamas, and August kicked off with work prep for several more big events. In addition, Sophie has been sick off and on for the last month, which has resulted in several vet trips and us still trying to figure out what's going on. Luckily, she's back to her normal self for now, so I'm hoping we'll be avoiding the vet for a little while (although we love the everyone at our vet's office!).

Loving Lately:
  • The Olympics - I'm pretty sure I cry every single time I'm watching. From Simone winning gold all-around, to Aly landing her final trick on floor and crying, to the Italian diver who was tearing up...I'm right there with them. I also just love the camaraderie and positivity that comes from the Olympics. Yes, there has been some interesting news due to location of this year's games, but it's been nice to see mostly positives in a world that has so much hate.
  • The little things - I work in a small town and headed out on my lunch break to pick up my dry cleaning. When I pulled up to the drive-thru, someone came out, opened my backseat, and put the hung up my dresses and I never had to get out of my car. It's the little things with customer service that make all the difference.
  • One of my very best friends is engaged! Emma and I have known each other since kindergarten but were roommates at Meredith College for our last three years, and we've been best friends ever since. On Saturday, she got engaged and I am so thrilled for her and her fiance!
  • Girlfriend dates - On Tuesday night, I had dinner with two of my friends to celebrate Emma's engagement. Hillary, Emma, and I shared an apartment our last two years of school, and it's nights like Tuesday that take me back to those treasured college years! Love my girlfriend time.
What kind of foundation do you use?
I just switched to Estee Lauder Double Wear and don't see myself changing anytime soon. I've used in the past but in my younger years, when I didn't appreciate makeup's ability to stay on for a full work-day. It's seriously amazing - I'd highly recommend giving it a try.

Where is a great place to eat in Wilmington?
Ah, this is such a hard one for me. So much of dining for me is atmosphere, so I love Bluewater as it is waterfront on the Intracoastal Waterway. For something a little different, Stephen and I love going to Beer Barrio, a fun little Mexican restaurant on Front Street.

What kind of planner do you use?
I love my Sugar Paper LA for Target planner, but I just received the cutest agenda from Coton Colors. Review coming soon!

A friend of mine just got engaged - any gift ideas?
I love Etsy for engagement gifts! We recently gave a friend this coordinate wooden sign for their new home that they just purchased together. I also just ordered this wedding planner from Southern Weddings for my most recently engaged BFF!

What is on your fall must-have list?
This is a hard one - for work, I'm wanting to stock up on cropped pants, like these from J.Crew. I also love structured tops that are perfect for both work and play. How cute is this one?
