New Year, New You

With a new year comes new resolutions, and though I tend to stay pretty organized, I am working on being thorough and on top of things. When the weeks get busy, I find myself coming home, sitting on the couch, and catching up on the latest episode of Vanderpump Rules instead of tidying up, working out, and the like. I’m also on the go all the time, and if I get back home late one Sunday night, I’m not likely to unpack right that moment. With this new year, I’m working on finding little ways to keep me organized – things that will become habits.

I have a couple of new bags that I received over the past few weeks, so that is really helping in my on-the-go organization. My Kate Spade bag, which has made frequent appearances as of late, as become my go-to for my day to day travels, but my Dagne Dover is really keeping my bag organized as well. I often switch to a crossbody or clutch on the weekends, so I would constantly have my cards and license floating around at any given time, which is never a good idea. The removable card holder makes for an easy transition. I use it my clutch-wallet, switch it over to another smaller bag, and can drop it in my tote – all very efficient and easy to keep up with.

I’ve always been a planner – my mom jokes that I would wake her up first thing in the morning on the weekends when I was younger, wanting to know what was on the agenda for the day. Of course, that translates over to my love for having a paper planner. Though I love technology and my iPhone, nothing beats a paper planner. I’ve used an Erin Condren life planner for the past three years, and though I love it, I wanted something that would slip into my bag a little more easily and not be quite as heavy. This year, I opted for a Sugar Paper LA for Target gold planner, which you can find in stores.

A few other things keeping me organized this year: meal planning, workout scheduling, and a creative notebook. I've never been a meal planner, but by writing them down and planning ahead, I'm more likely to eat healthy {although, sometimes a spontaneous sushi date is just the ticket}. I’ve also created a 30-Day workout calendar that I have taped to my refrigerator, ready to be crossed off. It contains a variety of squats, lunges, ab workouts, etc., + cardio a few times a week. and they can be done at the gym or at home {no excuse not to work out, right?!}. I stumbled across the adorable white and gold notebook at T.J. Maxx over the weekend, and it's perfect to slip in my bag to keep track of goals, ideas, and reminders.

How are you staying organized for this new year? Any tips?
