Tasseled

dress: c/o 9th and Elm, shoe: Lucky Brand (TJ Maxx), bangles: c/o Chloe + Isabel, earrings: c/o Chains by Lauren

I have found a new obsession -- its called Chains by Lauren. Seriously though, Lauren creates some beautiful pieces, and these tassel earrings are some of my very favorites. I love the simplicity of them, and that they go with so many things. I threw them on with a romper, too, and they complimented my outfit perfectly. I can't wait to share more of her collection that I have fallen absolutely in love with.

This dress is also a new favorite. I'm loving the bright colors and pattern, and it is beyond comfortable. 9th and Elm is such a fun site -- more details to come later!

Bleu

romper: Chapter 2 Boutique (sold out), shoes: CYNTHIA Cynthia Rowley (similar here and here), necklace: Bleuberry Toast, clutch: GiGi New York, bangle: c/o Chloe + Isabel, sunglasses: Ray-Ban, nails: OPI's I'm Too Fizzy Today

I'm in love with this color and I'm in love with rompers. Can you tell? This romper might be a new all-time favorite and I hate that it's sold out (I found it in the boutique the night before I moved and can't locate it online). I love how I can dress it up, and the longer length helps with that as well. As soon as I bought this romper, I new exactly what necklace I would pair with it: my Bleuberry Toast necklace. Each time I wear this piece, I get the most compliments. It's so delicate, but provides the right amount of pop to most anything you wear.

Trending: Turquoise

Turquoise

This summer, I am constantly being pulled towards this bright hue (hint for tomorrow's post), and you can find it just about everywhere you look. I saw the Michael Kors watch when shopping the other day, and it is stunning in person -- and featured in Nordstrom's anniversary sale! There is not a single one of these things that I wouldn't want in my closet, jewelry armoire, etc. This color brings so much depth and really captures the essence of summer. Shop some more favorites below -- and anything featured in a different color is available in turquoise!

Sun Standard + Giveaway

skirt and top: old (loving this and this), shoes: New Directions, watch: Rolex, cuff: Loren Hope, sunglasses: Ray-Ban c/o Eye Care Associates
It's safe to say I love my sunglasses. When I head out to work in the morning, I always grab a pair, and if I forget, I more than likely have at least one back-up pair in my car. Though I obviously don't wear my sunglasses all day while I'm at work, more often than not, they are glued to my face during the weekends as I spend most of those days outside. I saw a blog post once about how if you aren't liking the way you look or don't feel like getting ready, throw on a pair of sunglasses and you'll instantly feel better. It's funny, but oh so true, and I always feel much better in a cute pair of sunnies.

Though I often choose my sunglasses based on the fashion statement I want to make, it's also important to wear them to protect your eyes. I met with Eye Care Associates to discuss the importance of sunglasses and to get fitted for a pair that works great for me. I received quite the star-studded treatment -- when I arrived, I was met by Dawn, who had actually checked out Southern Style to get an idea of my style and sunglasses I already had. She had already picked out an array of sunglasses for me to try, all of which I was in love with. It was so hard to decide on a pair, but we tried on more than 15, each offering something that I was looking for in a pair of sunglasses.

I finally narrowed it down to this pair of Kate Spade sunnies (in white crystal) and the above Ray-Bans. It was a very hard choice -- I already had a pair of Ray-Ban aviators, but I loved the blue lenses in these. The Kate Spades offered a fun vibe that I didn't already have, but I ultimately went with the Ray-Bans for this reason: polarized lenses.

Polarized lenses are great because they have a special coating that reduces glare. As a result, objects are much more clear and the harmful effects that glare has on the eyes is reduced. A polarized lens can also help reduce eye strain, which is also important for your eyes. Since eye-care is so important, this definitely helped me make my decision.

So often,we look for the right pair of sunglasses in terms of how they look, but there is absolutely no need to compromise. My sunglasses provide me with the perfect statement to complete any look, but at the same time, offer my eyes UV-protection. It is easy to opt for a cheaper pair of sunglasses (I have my go-to for those!), but at the same time, investing in a great pair of sunglasses that are fitted to your face and have a good-quality lens will offer long-lasting results for your eyes.

I would highly recommend visiting Eye Care Associates for your eye-care needs. I visited the Centrum location in Cary, NC, but I am more than confident that you will receive the same great treatment that I did at any location you visit. I am looking forward to going back -- and they have certainly set the standard for my sunny eye-care needs.

Wanting a new pair of sunglasses? Now is your chance! I have partnered with Eye Care Associates for a fun giveaway! One lucky winner will receive a pair of blue mirrored Ray-Ban Polarized Aviators like mine. The giveaway will end on Monday at 12am and the winner will be announced that same day. Enter below for a fab pair of Ray Bans care of Eye Care Associates! Please note: Eye Care Associates will ship the winner's sunglasses and Eye Care Associates are not qualified to enter. Entries will be verified. Good luck!

That One Time...

...when I thought I was going to the Dominican Republic but didn't actually go. That's right...no DR for me at this point! In a crazy chain of events, an issue arose with our travel arrangements and we didn't realize it until Wednesday night around 11:30pm -- and our flight was scheduled to leave at 5:20am Thursday morning.

Thankfully, we were at least able to cancel the trip and receive a refund. My entire family was a wee-bit disappointed as you can imagine -- everyone was feeling kind of sorry for themselves last night and this morning when we should have been landing in the DR -- but I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason and we weren't meant to go on this trip. There has been a little talk of maybe rescheduling for December, but on a positive note, I do think I'll be going to NYC in August which will be fun as well. Granted, I am still wishing I had a pretty drink in hand while lounging on a beach chair, but it is most certainly not the end of the world, and I will be looking forward to it even more if we re-schedule.

I had a fun post scheduled for yesterday that included some of my favorite things in my suitcase, but unfortunately, that same bikini, tank, maxi dress-filled suitcase now has to be unpacked. No worries there, though, because now I have some great pieces I can where anytime.

On a more positive note, congratulations to Courtney Hunt, who won the $10 credit to Gravel Road Tees! I will be contacting you shortly with more information!

I Work Out

top: T.J. Maxx (similar here and here and loving this one), shorts: c/o Colosseum USA, sports bra: similar, shoes: Nike Lunar Glide, earrings: Kate Spade, sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Maintaining an active lifestyle is incredibly important to me. I'll be the first to admit that since my move, going to gym has definitely been moved to the back-burner, but that is a habit I need to break. Though it is sometimes hard to get to the gym or hit the pavement outside for a run, nothing beats the feeling you get after a great workout.

I tend to gravitate towards baggy t-shirts for my workouts, but as of late, I've been choosing cuter workout clothes. There's a reason behind it: when I feel better in my workout clothes, I'm more motivated to work out. In addition, I can see my arms in a tank as opposed to a tee, so I can see my muscles (ha!) as I'm working out.

These cute shorts from Colosseum are perfect for the gym, for running, or taking my pup on long walks. They are definitely going to be one of my favorites, and I love them with this tank (found at T.J. Maxx!). They are offering a similar pair that I would love to try as well. Colosseum has so many great options to keep you feeling put-together during your work out, and there are so many tops and sweaters I want to get my hands on as well.

It's Wednesday. Cheers!

Heart in Carolina

tank: c/o Fabulous Finds Boutique, shorts: Forever 21 (in store), sunglasses: Ray-Ban, shoes: Jack Rogers, bracelet: Cathryn Ann

I'm always looking for cute and comfy tanks to wear in the summer, and I'm loving this one from Fabulous Finds Boutique. Plus, with the way summer has been flying by, it'll be football season before we know it, and this is perfect for me to show off my Wolfpack pride at NC State games this fall.

There are so many cute tank options from FFB Tanks, but this one may be my absolute favorite. With my recent move to the state's capital, it couldn't be more fitting!

Hope you had a fab weekend!
