Beauty Secrets: Holiday Edition

beauty secrets
Overall, my beauty routine stays the same throughout the seasons. I've used the same bronzer for years, and though I've switched back and forth between foundations, I use the same types of products everyday. I mostly use the same products for a day at the office and a night out, but I just vary in how and how much I apply.

All of these products are part of my everyday makeup routine, but I love the versatility of them. I recently started using Too Faced Amazing Face, and I love the coverage and the way it builds depending on the occasion. I've been using the Smashbox Eye Trio for over a year, and it's great for filling in brows as well. Bobbi Brown bronzer is my favorite, and I haven't tried many others because of how pleased I am with it, and I normally top off my cheeks with a dusting of blush, in a peachy tone. Throw on some mascara and lipgloss and I call it a day. Of course, my makeup bag is overflowing with products that I love, but these are the staples that go into creating my favorit elook.

For a holiday party, I do my same routine but change up the application. I have a great contour palette that I use to highlight, which makes a big difference, especially for an event where I know I'm taking pictures. I rarely wear eye shadow to work, but always use my trio palette when I'm all dressed up and use the darker colors again on my brows, just a bit more heavily than I do during the day. I also use more liner, bronzer, and blush to create a look that stays all night without having to reapply. An illuminating highlighter {I love theBalm's Cindy-Lou Manizer} can also really make a difference, and I add that once I've completed my bronzing and blushing routine. Though I do wear a lip color every day, I save the reds for special occasions and night-time events. Sephora Collection has this great color, and I love wearing it. What's great about a beauty routine is that once you establish your favorite products and techniques, you can create a holiday look with those things -- with a red lip to top it off.
